- Based on economic activity, one can select either to register a new business in Panama or buy an existing business

The applicant must also register a company in Panama to his own name or purchase a real estate worth of at least 100,000 USD. If the applicant moves to Panama together with his family (wife and children), the applicant is obliged to pay 2,000 USD for each family member (dependent). Children under the age of 25 are also considered dependents if they are university, college, or disabled students. Regarding children who are over 18, additional documents should be submitted if there is no marriage contract.
Step by step procedure to apply for a Panama Friendly Nations Visa
To obtain the permanent residency, the presence in Panama is required. It is not required to stay in Panama all the time.
First visit: It will take 5 – 15 working days. The duration of stay depends on the specific situation, on what needs to be done, potential delay regarding bank account opening etc. As a result, the applicant can walk-away with the provisional permanent residence card (of course only if all requirements are duly met).
Second visit: It will take 2-3 days, after 2-3 months following the first visit to Panama. As a result, the applicant will this time get his or her permanent residence card.
